Imbalances or blockages in our energy flow can be caused by trauma, suppressed emotion or continued lower vibrational states such as stress, depression or anxiety. This is something ancient cultures instinctively knew as they mapped out meridian lines, spin points (such as the major chakras) and auric fields in and around the human body and devised practices and therapies to balance the body’s energy, such as yoga, reiki, and acupuncture.

Certified Athletic Therapists are best known for their quick-thinking on-field emergency care of professional and elite athletes. The first to respond when someone gets hurt, they are experts at injury assessment and rehabilitation. It is that same mix of on-site care and active rehabilitation skills that makes Athletic Therapists so effective in treating the musculoskeletal (muscles, bones, and joints) injuries of all Canadians, whether on the field or in the clinic.

Athletic Therapists adhere to the Sports Medicine Model of care. They treat a wide range of patients, from kids with concussions to seniors recovering from hip replacement surgery, using various manual therapies, modalities, exercise prescription and even bracing and taping. The treatment varies but the objective does not: an Athletic Therapist's goal is to help clients return to their usual activities, whether that means playing competitive sports or walking to the mailbox and back. The ultimate goal is a safe reintegration into an active lifestyle.

Hi there, my name is Tanya Hamlet and I am Registered Massage Therapist and Manual Lymphatic Drainage therapist. I have been practicing within the Oakville community since 2006. Over the course of my years of practice I have treated people of all age ranges from as young as 8 weeks old to 90 years old. I have successfully treated conditions such as sciatic pain, carpal tunnel, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, tendinitis, chronic back pain, as well as General Muscle aches/tension that occur as a result of our day to day activities such as working at a computer/sitting a desk.

I am a Vodder Certified therapist for Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) and Combined Decongestive Therapy (CDT). As an MLD therapist I treat people who have Lymphedema which is a chronic condition characterized by the build up of fluid in the body most commonly in the extremities. Treatment for this chronic issue includes hands on Manual Lymphatic Drainage therapy as well as the use of compression garments.

Manual Lymphatic drainage can also be helpful for relieving acute inflammation for injuries such as sprains and muscle strains. It is also beneficial in relieving sinus issues like those related to seasonal allergens.

In addition to providing treatment for Lymphedema I am a Certified Fitter for compression garments as well an Authorizer for the Assistive Devices Program (ADP).
